Eight victories and only one try conceded

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - SPORT -

THERE were some stunning performances from Chesham Prep School’s rugby teams at the Warwick School regional rugby festival on Sunday.

Chesham’s U9s and U11s both travelled to the Midlands with the aim of qualifying for the national finals in March, and both did so after going through the day unbeaten.

The U9s won all four of their games, scoring 15 tries and only conceding one; the U11s also won all four games they played, scoring 12 tries and not conceding any.

Winchester House, St Faith’s, QEGS Wakefield and Akeley Wood were all beaten by the U9s, while Bronte House, Bedford Modern, Kings Hawford and local rivals Gayhurst all fell victim to the U11s.

Chesham Prep’s marketing manager, Judy Hubbard, said: “The boys certainly did themselves and the school proud and played brilliant team rugby throughout. We now look forward to moving on to the national stage and competing there.”
