Striker scores five to put race for title back in their grasp
A FIVE-star performance from Gary Bull got Last Post’s Chesham Sunday League Premier Division title challenge back on track.
But they had to come from behind after Darrel Cooper put opponents Eldorado in front with just three minutes gone, Leo Smith heading Last Post level before Gary Bull put them in front with his first a minute later.
Stuart Hawkes got Eldorado back on terms, only for Bull to net his second on the stroke of half time and straight from the kick off in the second half, Bull completed his hat trick.
Within a minute, Hawkes had pulled another back for Eldorado, but Last Post then turned on the style as Bull got his fourth and Joel Breakspear added another.
Bull then grabbed his fifth before Miles Beaven completed a miserable day for Eldorado by rounding off an 8-3 hammering in injury time from distance.
The goal-glut was in keeping with a day which saw three Premier League games produce 29 goals, with league leaders Chalfont Saints keeping their title bid on track with a 6-1 thrashing of newly promoted Dinamo Chequers.
Connor Cumber bagged a brace for the Saints, while Dare Stack, George Dear and Michael McNulty were all on target too, and Scott Johnson struck Dinamo’s consolation.
