Feast your senses on music and pies
Pubs have always played an important part in our communities and we’re keen to ensure that tradition continues. Here, some landlords share their latest news. We’ll drink to that!
A couple of events at the Falcon for your diary.
On the evening of Sunday, December 14, the village Christmas lights will be switched on and children from three local schools will be getting together on the green opposite the pub to sing carols – definitely a festive evening.
Five days later, on Friday, December 19, landlord David Brench will be welcoming the talented singing duo of John and Lee to the Falcon for an evening of pop and rock covers. They will be on stage from around 7.30pm.
Landlady Anna Miller and her team have a special treat in store for lovers of good old fashioned English pies – Vintage Pie Wednesdays!
There are always six different pies on offer from an extensive list that includes traditional favourites like steak and kidney through to more exotic pies like three cheese and potato, venison, port and bacon, spiced pulled lamb and game and blackberry.
And to make it even more personal, you can choose your vegetables prepared your way. What’s not to like?
This is the perfect time of year to be thinking about a visit to the Plough where landlord Steve Broadgate will ensure you a warm and friendly welcome.
Enjoy the real fire – always a great feature for any country pub – and try out some of their great real ales including the regular Fuller’s London Pride. Also popular are a couple of ales from our great friends at Malt the Brewery in Prestwood – Malt Bitter and Malt Golden Ale.
The Plough is proud of its reputation for keeping ales in tip top condition – and that comes from regular cleaning of the pipes and the cellar. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.
Sometimes the end of the week just means letting your hair down and rocking with the best of them. And if that’s your idea of a fun way to spend Friday night then we suggest you get along to the Moon on Friday, December 12 to catch the Replica Rockaholics in action.
Great band who present covers from artists as diverse as Bryan Adams, Elvis Presley, Kings of Leon and U2.
Landlord Rod Walker knows how to pick ‘em when it comes to great musical entertainment. And this Saturday, he’s invited Buccaneer to pay a visit to his lovely old pub. High energy rock ‘n’ roll with lights, smoke machines, lots of attitude and no small amount of humour. Come along – but be prepared to boogie!
Anna Miller of The White Hart, Beaconsfield Old Town, is hoping to tempt customers with her tasty pies
