On the path to a clearer walk on the Commons
VOLUNTEERS were thanked for their work clearing paths for walkers to enjoy.
Gerrards Cross Parish Council held a reception for staff from Tesco, BP Collins, Wildwood, Apple Tree and The Bull Hotel on Monday.
Workers from the firms support the Gerrards Cross Conservation Volunteers (GXCV) at its monthly clear up of paths in East Common Road by proving refreshments and rest facilities as well as mucking in themselves.
GXCV leader Bill Collins said: “Local traders make a huge contribution to our work and we encourage others to become involved. We have fun and enjoy ourselves.”
Tesco manager James Lingard added: “It is great that the local Parish Council have recognised the local community work we do here at Tesco Gerrards Cross.
“We are delighted to be able to help with the others, in various different ways and really enjoy being part of this great community.”
