Hospice’s fundraiser

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - OPINION -

THE Hospice of St Francis is staging a fundraising event for relatives to remember loved ones this Christmas.

The popular annual Light Up a Life Appeal was launched on Sunday, with a tree of remembrance illuminated at the hospice’s Berkhamsted grounds.

The lights in memory of former patients at the hospice will remain lit throughout the festive period. People can still add lights to the tree in memory of loved ones and make donations if they wish.

Hospice director Dr Ros Taylor said: “As we approach Christmas, it’s a time when we celebrate, remember and give thanks for family and friends we have lost. We naturally reflect on memories of those no longer with us and it can be a very poignant time, evoking a whole range of emotions.”
