Dou­ble win for Chiltern

Chiltern’s A team Jack Stock­dale, Matt McNab and James Perks THERE was a dou­ble suc­cess for Chiltern Ta­ble Ten­nis Club at the English Ta­ble Ten­nis As­so­ci­a­tion’s Na­tional Cadet League on Sun­day.

The NCL is open to any clubs, ar­eas, dis­tricts or leagues that wish to en­ter teams of three play­ers aged un­der 15, and is held on a re­gional ba­sis at venues through­out Eng­land on four Sun­days each sea­son.

The South­ern Re­gion NCL, held at Cip­pen­ham TTC, is one of the largest in the coun­try, with 24 teams from as far afield as Guild­ford, Steve­nage, Read­ing, Sut­ton, Ox­ford and Hilling­don, which were split into four di­vi­sions of six.

Chiltern en­tered four teams this sea­son – one in Di­vi­sion Two, one in Di­vi­sion Three and two in Di­vi­sion Four – and the A and C teams both won their leagues, earn­ing pro­mo­tion for ses­sion two.

The play­ers rep­re­sent­ing Chiltern were Jack Stock­dale, Matt McNab and James Perks (A team); Lau­rence Pen­nant-Jones, Har­vey Noble and Greg Ball (B team); Gian Rem­nant, Jonny Carr, Adam Perkins and Harry Van Der Zwart (C team); and Jonah Alfert, El­liott Booth and Amri Shakir (D team).
