HOLA los amantes del vino ‘tis la estación a ser alegre!’

This week, we head to Batea in the Terra Alta region of Spain. Here, in 2007, Ramon Roqueta Segales, a younger member of a family with a long-standing tradition in the world of wine, decided to take on a personal project, and so Lafou Cellar was born. We are tasting the Lafou el sender Terra Alta 2012. The look is a deep, dark ruby colour with a blackberry core that clings longingly to the glass. On the nose, big, fresh, blackberry fruit aromas, mixed with aromas of balsamic and a little oak.

In the mouth, the blackberry aromas translate to flavour with added spice and a hint of licorice. A very enjoyable wine, which I would drink with food. Perfect with a good mushroom risotto.

Alcohol by volume is 14.5 per cent and the price at Waitrose is £11.49.

Lafou is the winner of numerous wine awards in 2014. Until next time, Salud! disfrutar de sus celebraciones prefestivas…
