Cost-cutting that causes heartache
RE: Anger at removal of graveside ornaments (Advertiser, December 11) I AM writing in response to your [front page] story regarding the removal of personal items from a grave at the Garden of Rest.
I personally feel it is outrageous not only have Chalfont St Peter Parish Council taken away our right to plant flowers, they are now removing personal items which were put there by the children for the daddy.
If anyone has visited the Garden of Rest recently, you will see that the lawn laid has started to turn yellow; it is patchy in places and looks bare. How can anyone say it looks better than it did in the summer when all the flowers were on the graves.
When you look around you will see that the ‘planting area’ allocated to K plot is actually less than that given to the cremation area and less than the war graves in France, which
