Christmas almost here and we have exciting plans for new year
WE CAN’T quite believe how fast the time has flown this year and how things have changed at South Bucks Hospice.
This week saw the arrival of hot Christmas dinners supplied by The Pantry in Hazlemere for our patients in Edie Pusey House and these have gone down wonderfully well.
There’s also been a big celebration for our amazing volunteers who give up their time week in, week out to support the hospice, our patients and super hero nurses.
It is rare that they manage to come together as a group when they aren’t volunteering for us so it was wonderful to see such a supportive, selfless team of people in one room.
On behalf of the staff, nurses and patients, we want to say a huge thank you to our excellent volunteer team.
As you may be aware, our hospice currently provide palliative and lymphoedema care to people of South Bucks, free of charge.
We offer a wide range of services to those who need us in the local community and alongside servicing the needs of our patients, we also aim to provide much-needed support to their families and carers.
2015 will mark our 30th anniversary of supporting the community and with it will bring some fantastic changes
FUTURE PLAN: Local artist Jos Haigh has painted a number of watercolours depicting what the new South Bucks Hospice building will look like and progressions of what we can offer.
In March of next year, we hope to put spade to ground and begin the building work for our new community hospice!
The plans for the new build are looking simply fantastic and as you can see from the beautiful watercolours (provided by local artist Jos Haigh) it’s going to be quite spectacular once complete in 2017.
We hope to welcome hundreds more patients to us every week once we open the new building including those transitioning from being taken care of by children’s hospices.
We have a very big job on our hands in terms of fundraising to provide these new premises for our current and future patients but we know that with the help and support of the South Bucks community, we can do it!
