Owner dances away with an MBE

A DANC­ING school owner has been hon­oured by the Queen for 35 years of fundrais­ing.

Bea­cons­field-based dance school owner Suzanne Lear re­ceived an MBE on De­cem­ber 5 for ser­vices to Lym­phoma Re­search. Her daugh­ter Lisa, 16, died from hon-Hodgkin’s lym­phoma in 1979. The Lisa Lear Fund has sub­se­quently raised £500,000 for the Lym­phoma Re­search Trust.

Mrs Lear said: “It was a most mem­o­rable day, meet­ing the Queen and re­ceiv­ing such an hon­our, a won­der­ful ex­pe­ri­ence, with my son, Paul and friends, Carol Coussins and Avril Cross­well, some of the many sup­port­ers who started
