Christ­mas Fair, St Mary’s Church, Hawridge

PEO­PLE flocked to a church’s in­au­gu­ral Christ­mas fair re­cently, which has been hailed a suc­cess.

Fol­low­ing the suc­cess of its Har­vest Mar­ket, St Mary’s Church, in Church Lane, Hawridge, held its first Christ­mas fair on Satur­day, Novem­ber 29.

Or­gan­iser Janet Hop­kin­son said: “It was a great suc­cess with peo­ple turn­ing up to browse our many stalls of Christ­mas gifts, jew­ellery, cards, hand­made Christ­mas wreaths and stock­ing fillers.

“Mulled wine and mince pies en­sured ev­ery­one was kept happy while brows­ing the huge se­lec­tion of gifts and be­spoke hand­made items.”

Chil­dren were kept en­ter­tained at the event with a chance to name Ru­dolph’s friend, do­nated by En-Route, with the hope of win­ning him.

A Christ­mas tree and a hand­made top­i­ary holly tree were also avail­able to be won by adults.

Funds raised at the event will go to the church.
