Scouts in Chesham and Amersham have had a busy few weeks sorting and delivering cards to people in the towns and surrounding villages as part of Scout Post.
People who wanted to send cards to loved ones in the area could buy a ‘scout stamp’ for 25p from participating outlets and pop the card in the store’s scout postbox.
The annual scheme raises money for the scout groups taking part, including 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Chesham Scout Groups, 2nd Amersham Common Scout Group and Gladiator Explorer Unit.
The 2nd Amersham Common Scout Group had its first sorting session at St John’s Methodist Church in Woodside Road, Amersham, on Saturday, December 13, when scouts sorted more than 1,000 cards for Amersham alone.
It was expected they would have even more cards to sort in the second session on Friday, December 19.
Correctly addressed cards will be delivered by today (Christmas Eve).
