Third year 3D contemporary crafts and products student Craig Wood, at Buckinghamshire New University, is helping raise cash for Chesham-based charity The Cardiomyopathy Association and Diabetes UK. Craig designed the two-inch high badges and 5,000 have been produced and have been available to buy in return for a donation at the market in High Wycombe, Tesco in Eden Shopping Centre and Priory Pharmacy in Priory Road, High Wycombe.
Wycombe mayor Khalil Ahmed challenged the students to design something to boost the good causes and selected Craig as the winner. The charities are Mr Khalil’s chosen mayoral charities.
Craig said: “This was a great opportunity to get out there and do some real-life work as part of my degree. I hope people enjoy wearing the badges with pride.”
The Cardiomyopathy Association is based in Ashridge Road, Chesham. Nick Posford, head of fundraising, said: “It is a fantastic design and will raise crucial awareness.”
