Wear your lapel badges with pride

Stu­dent Craig Wood has de­signed lapel badges which the High Wy­combe mayor is us­ing to support his cho­sen char­i­ties for the year. Third year 3D con­tem­po­rary crafts and prod­ucts stu­dent Craig Wood, at Buck­ing­hamshire New Univer­sity, is help­ing raise cash for Che­sham-based char­ity The Car­diomy­opa­thy As­so­ci­a­tion and Di­a­betes UK. Craig de­signed the two-inch high badges and 5,000 have been pro­duced and have been avail­able to buy in re­turn for a do­na­tion at the mar­ket in High Wy­combe, Tesco in Eden Shop­ping Cen­tre and Pri­ory Pharmacy in Pri­ory Road, High Wy­combe.

Wy­combe mayor Khalil Ahmed chal­lenged the stu­dents to de­sign some­thing to boost the good causes and se­lected Craig as the win­ner. The char­i­ties are Mr Khalil’s cho­sen may­oral char­i­ties.

Craig said: “This was a great op­por­tu­nity to get out there and do some real-life work as part of my de­gree. I hope peo­ple en­joy wear­ing the badges with pride.”

The Car­diomy­opa­thy As­so­ci­a­tion is based in Ashridge Road, Che­sham. Nick Pos­ford, head of fundrais­ing, said: “It is a fan­tas­tic de­sign and will raise cru­cial aware­ness.”
