Doctors help children get on the Smile Train
A COUPLE spent part of the festive season in India seeing first-hand the work carried out with money they have helped to raise.
Dr Sameer Patel and Dr Shivani Patel of Marsham Way, Gerrards Cross set up the Elleven dental practice, in London, and have helped raise money for the Smile Train, a charity which helps to benefit children in developing countries who suffer from cleft lip and palate.
The couple last year managed to raise £5,000 for the charity by taking part in the Colour Run and, on Boxing Day, travelled to Delhi to visit the Sant Parmanand Hospital, where they met with Dr Puneet Batra, to see how their money has been spent.
The couple said that the trip was a ‘fabulous, heart warming experience’.
