Santa’s float raises £7,000

The Ro­tary Club of Ger­rards Cross and Chal­font St Peter raised about £7,000 for char­i­ta­ble causes in the UK and abroad with its Christ­mas float, which vis­ited dif­fer­ent ar­eas of the two vil­lages.

The float in­cluded an area for Fa­ther Christ­mas to sit and its fig­ures and struc­tures were re­fur­bished dur­ing Novem­ber by a num­ber of ro­tary club mem­bers.

John Hedley, of the group, said: “The float was able to com­plete its rounds this year thanks to the teams of col­lec­tors, the skill of the driv­ers and the kind­ness of the weather man.”
