A SCIENTIST provided an insight into radiation when he gave a talk to a group gathered for breakfast.

John McCombe, who worked for Amersham International and its public sector predecessor, addressed the Men’s Breakfast at the United Reformed Church, in Aylesbury End, Beaconsfield, December 13.

Mr McCombe gave a talk titled Living with Radiation.

He explained how radiation is a naturally occurring phenomenon to which we are continually exposed, notably from sunlight but also from a variety of other sources, including granite rocks, bananas and our own bodies.

John Hoare, who attended the talk said: “He spoke about a much misunderstood subject.”
