Ma­jor de­vel­op­ment plan

A COMPANY has pro­posed the ma­jor re­de­vel­op­ment of a site to in­clude a sports cen­tre and ac­com­mo­da­tion for more than 300 peo­ple.

Asino Ltd has ap­plied to re­de­velop part of the site at New­land Park, in Gore­lands Lane, Chal­font St Giles, to pro­vide ac­com­mo­da­tion for at least 309 peo­ple, in­clud­ing a new build­ing and con­ver­sion of ex­ist­ing stu­dent blocks.

The plans in­volve the con­struc­tion of a new fit­ness cen­tre, sports pitches and al­ter­ations to a Grade II listed manor house and a sta­ble build­ing to pro­vide new ac­com­mo­da­tion. A plan­ning com­mit­tee at Chiltern Dis­trict Coun­cil aims to de­cide on the ap­pli­ca­tion by Mon­day, March 16.

The company, based in Har­row, has also pro­posed to re­fur­bish gar­den build­ings, a cot­tage and a lodge, re­store a gar­den wall and de­mol­ish a build­ing to the west of the en­trance drive.
