Councillor to ‘bring villages together’
A NEW parish councillor who is ‘passionate’ about her village will promote more affordable housing.
Jacqueline Lomas of Puers Lane, Jordans, was voted in by her new colleagues at Chalfont St Giles Parish Council.
Jordans and Chalfont St Giles fall under one parish council and, as a member of community group Jordans Village Limited, Mrs Lomas will work to bring the villages closer together.
She said: “I’m passionate that Jordans is represented in our parish council. With the Neighbourhood Plan in the offing, we need to be on the ball.”
The plan is a community blueprint that aims to give villagers a voice in deciding how they would like the area to evolve.
Mrs Lomas has affordable housing on the top of her agenda.
“Affordable housing is an issue,” she said.
