Coun­cil­lor to ‘bring vil­lages to­gether’

A NEW parish coun­cil­lor who is ‘pas­sion­ate’ about her vil­lage will pro­mote more af­ford­able hous­ing.

Jac­que­line Lo­mas of Puers Lane, Jor­dans, was voted in by her new col­leagues at Chal­font St Giles Parish Coun­cil.

Jor­dans and Chal­font St Giles fall un­der one parish coun­cil and, as a mem­ber of com­mu­nity group Jor­dans Vil­lage Limited, Mrs Lo­mas will work to bring the vil­lages closer to­gether.

She said: “I’m pas­sion­ate that Jor­dans is rep­re­sented in our parish coun­cil. With the Neigh­bour­hood Plan in the off­ing, we need to be on the ball.”

The plan is a com­mu­nity blue­print that aims to give vil­lagers a voice in de­cid­ing how they would like the area to evolve.

Mrs Lo­mas has af­ford­able hous­ing on the top of her agenda.

“Af­ford­able hous­ing is an is­sue,” she said.

“I cer­tainly do not want Jor­dans to be like Bea­cons­field where peo­ple are build­ing mas­sive houses – that is not in keep­ing with the
