Have you heard what’s on offer to help?

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - SCHOOL REPORT -

THINGS only seem to get better for local entrepreneur Leon Cox, director and lead audiologist at the Chalfont Hearing Centre. The practice has recently satisfied the criteria to be considered as one of the UK’s Elite Hearing Aid Centres. External independent assessment of both customer service and audiological practices has recognised them as having an exceptionally high level of service.

Accreditation from the Widex Best Practice Scheme and the Phonak Consultant Approved Centre as well as Clinical Ear Care Certification from BSHAA, ensure that they are one of the most decorated hearing centres in Buckinghamshire.

Despite huge technological developments in hearing aids, there is a significantly high proportion of hearing aid users who still report dissatisfaction with their hearing aids.

Studies have indicated that in most cases this dissatisfaction is probably due to two factors; the way the hearing aid has been fitted and programmed, and the attentiveness of the aftercare support provided by their hearing centre or hearing aid audiologist.

Leon said: “When people think about buying hearing aids they don’t think about the importance of the service and fitting level. It can make a significant difference in the performance of the hearing aid, that’s why we take every measure to ensure we exceed expectations.”

This issue highlights the fundamental fact that the hearing aid is only a part of your journey to better hearing. With increasing NHS cuts to hearing services many people are turning to private hearing centres, making your choice of provider even more important.

The ability of your hearing healthcare professional and the standards and protocol they follow are the key to releasing the full potential of the hearing instrument. Consultant approved hearing centres are committed to following the very highest standards of audiological and customer care as specified by an independent advisory panel.

Leon added: “We have a much wider variety of hearing aids that are far more sophisticated than those available on the NHS, and we offer the opportunity to try before you buy, people really are surprised by the difference.”
