THE top two players in the Super Darts Singles League went head to head at the Hazlemere Community Centre this week – and the game was not a disappointment.

Both Steve McLeod and Rob Brereton (pictured) hit high scores, including 180s, throughout the game, with Brereton leading 4-1 after the first session, but McLeod hit back in the second session, taking three of the first four legs.

McLeod then needed to take the final leg for a 5-5 draw and when he was left needing a top, with Brereton on 152, it looked odds on a draw, but Brereton hit two 60s and a double 16 to take the win 6-4 and remain unbeaten.

Another unbeaten record also went as Andy Long fell to Pat O’Reilly 8-2, with O’Reilly hitting a 180, while another 8-2 winner was Steven Vaughan over Blaine Jelly, despite Jelly hitting a 180.

Dan Franzen moved into second spot after his 7-3 win over Mike McLeod came in quick time, despite McLeod hitting a 123 outshot, while Dave Stopps bagged an impressive 7-3 win over John Beattie and Paul Woodbridge pulled off a hard fought 6-4 win over Mark Luckett.
