Surprise at above average signal stats
Mobile phone coverage for Chiltern 16% better
PEOPLE have shared their surprise at Chiltern being among one of the best areas in the county for phone signal.
Reception in the Chiltern area was 16 per cent better than even the UK average, despite people still claiming it is not up to scratch.
The stats were collated by wireless network measurement app, OpenSignal, which collects worldwide mobile network strength figures.
Based on an analysis of 2G, 3G and 4G reception as sent in by its users Buckingham was bottom of the pile in Buckinghamshire when it comes to signal.
is one of the best areas in the county. The best providers were EE, 3 or O2 who OpenSignal ranked as the top three providers in the area.
Estate agent Trevor Kent (pictured below), from Gerrards Cross, has complained about phone signal before calling for more to be done to improve it.

Best provider businesses to Bucks signal has to improve. He said: “My experience in Gerrards Cross, Chalfont and Denham is that the service is still dreadful and in one or two specific areas n o n existent.

On Twitter people also shared their surprise at the rankings. Daniel White, @DJ-Digital_D, based in Great Missenden, said: “Prestwood is awful for O2!” Stephen Powers, @dvbj6014, said: “4G in Wendover with EE is very poor but 3G on Orange is good, odd as they are the same provider.”
