Mo­bile phone cov­er­age for Chiltern 16% bet­ter

PEO­PLE have shared their sur­prise at Chiltern be­ing among one of the best ar­eas in the county for phone sig­nal.

Re­cep­tion in the Chiltern area was 16 per cent bet­ter than even the UK av­er­age, de­spite peo­ple still claim­ing it is not up to scratch.

The stats were col­lated by wire­less net­work mea­sure­ment app, OpenSig­nal, which col­lects world­wide mo­bile net­work strength fig­ures.

Based on an anal­y­sis of 2G, 3G and 4G re­cep­tion as sent in by its users Buck­ing­ham was bot­tom of the pile in Buck­ing­hamshire when it comes to sig­nal.

But

Chiltern

is one of the best ar­eas in the county. The best providers were EE, 3 or O2 who OpenSig­nal ranked as the top three providers in the area.

Es­tate agent Trevor Kent (pic­tured be­low), from Ger­rards Cross, has com­plained about phone sig­nal be­fore call­ing for more to be done to im­prove it.

Best provider busi­nesses to Bucks sig­nal has to im­prove. He said: “My ex­pe­ri­ence in Ger­rards Cross, Chal­font and Den­ham is that the ser­vice is still dread­ful and in one or two spe­cific ar­eas n o n ex­is­tent.

On Twit­ter peo­ple also shared their sur­prise at the rank­ings. Daniel White, @DJ-Dig­i­tal_D, based in Great Mis­senden, said: “Prest­wood is aw­ful for O2!” Stephen Pow­ers, @dvbj6014, said: “4G in Wen­dover with EE is very poor but 3G on Orange is good, odd as they are the same provider.”
