Girls win new contest
A GROUP of gymnasts from St Mary’s School, in Gerrards Cross, were crowned winners of the inaugural GISGA (Girls Independent Schools Gymnastics Association) Four Piece New Schools Competition last Sunday.
Haberdashers’ School, in Elstree, hosted the tournament, which was attended by schools from as far and wide as Cambridge, Monmouth, Leicester, Shrewsbury, Rutland, Newport and Shropshire, as well as South Bucks.
All competitors performed a set and voluntary vault, as well as a set and voluntary routine, after which the top three individuals were awarded medals.
As well as being crowned overall winners, St Mary’s pupil Charlotte Sykes won silver in the individual categories.
