New ar­rivals at Pinewood Nurs­eries re­cently in­clud­ing (clock­wise from above) the calf, gera­ni­ums and piglets STAFF were left scratch­ing their heads at a plant nurs­ery after one of their cows gave birth to a calf – de­spite the ab­sence of a bull.

Har­riet the dex­ter cow, who lives at Pinewood Nurs­eries, in Wex­ham Street, Stoke Po­ges, gave birth to the un­ex­pected sur­prise to the de­light of puz­zled staff. The iden­tity of the fa­ther re­mains a mys­tery.

Some piglets have also been born, but that is less of a mys­tery as male pigs live with the sows.
