New acts are added to Penn fes­ti­val line-up

THE Fratel­lis, Scout­ing for Girls and Peter An­dre are all set to take the stage at this year’s Pen­nFest.

Fes­ti­val-go­ers shared their ex­cite­ment on­line when the Pen­nFest 2015 line-up was an­nounced on Fri­day.

So far, the con­firmed acts in­clude Union J, The Fratel­lis, The Happy Mon­days, Peter An­dre, Scout­ing for Girls, Re­becca Fer­gu­son, Jack Pack, Stereo MC’s, Only The Young and Dread­zone.

The three-day, fam­i­lyfriendly fes­ti­val with camp­ing, will be at Penn Street again as Pen­nFest, for­merly known as Penn Fes­ti­val, re­turns on July 17-19. More acts are still to be con­firmed and the Old Skool Ware­house, fea­tur­ing DJs, will be an­nounced soon.

In ad­di­tion to the main stage acts, there will be a di­verse se­lec­tion of upand-com­ing bands, with ap­pli­ca­tions for support bands open­ing soon.

As well as an im­pres­sive ar­ray of con­tem­po­rary and es­tab­lished per­form­ers, there will be cre­ative work­shops and a global ar­ti­san mar­ket with a se­lec­tion of arts-based stalls.

There will also be a ‘play penn’, in­clud­ing arts and crafts work­shops, street en­ter­tain­ers and per­form­ers and a cir­cus work­shop where chil­dren can learn cir­cus skills.

There will be mul­ti­ple bars and a wide range of qual­ity food out­lets, sell­ing food from around the world.

Camp­ing will be avail­able on the site un­til the Mon­day.
