Police may signal end to Silverstone

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - OPINION -

I HAVE to say that it is good to see a police presence along the A413 from time to time, particularly between Chalfont St Peter and Tatling End.

There have been some horrific accidents down this stretch of road over the past few years and yet you still see cars whipping along at nearly 100 mph, using the road as another Silverstone.

I drive along this part several times a week and at no time do I see many drivers going along at a sensible speed, even with the sign that this road has a high crash rate!

Perhaps it would be wise to lower the speed limit to 50mph, or alternatively that the police keep patrolling this road regularly to keep drivers in check with, at the very least, a heavy fine.
