Foundation helps to make sure library has got it covered
VISITORS to a community library will have brand new carpet under their feet thanks to a grant.
The Buckinghamshire Community Foundation donated funds for a new blue carpet at Chalfont St Peter Community Library in High Street. The library has donated its old carpets to the parish council which will use them to prevent weed growth by covering unused allotments.
Community Library chairman Steve Poole said: “We’re pleased to have been able to continue our programme of improvements to our community library and we are very grateful to the Buckinghamshire Community Foundation.
“We chose a local company, First Floor Carpets, to provide and install the new carpets and we thank them for the support they have given to us throughout this project, particularly by carrying out the work over a weekend to avoid disrupting our opening hours.
“This is a great example of business and community organisations working together and shows why Chalfont St Peter is such a thriving community.”
