Chil­dren’s can­dle-lit cer­e­mony

James Coeur de Lion helps chil­dren light the can­dles CHIL­DREN lit a can­dle and pledged to be­have bet­ter when they took part in a rec­on­cil­i­a­tion ser­vice.

The ser­vice was led by Fa­ther Fran­cis Hig­gins of St Teresa’s Church, in Bea­cons­field, as­sisted by Fa­ther Paul Don­a­van of St Au­gus­tine’s, in High Wy­combe, and Fa­ther Kevin O’Driscoll of Holy Fam­ily, in Lan­g­ley on Thurs­day, Jan­uary 15.

The priests held the first rec­on­cil­i­a­tion ser­vice for the chil­dren pre­par­ing for their first holy com­mu­nion, which will be held later this year.

After con­fes­sion the chil­dren each wrote a pledge to do bet­ter, which were then placed be­neath a can­de­labra and a can­dle was lit for them by James Coeur de Lion, who is train­ing to be a priest.
