Spring Centre offering HOPE
THROUGH workshops, specialist clinics, exercise classes and therapies, our Spring Centre helps people who have a diagnosis of a life-limiting illness or are in remission from cancer.
A new HOPE course has just started to help people cope during or after treatment for cancer. HOPE, which stands for Help Overcoming Problems Effectively, is a six-week workshop which takes place in an informal, relaxed setting and is aimed at giving cancer sufferers the knowledge, skills and confidence to move on with their lives.
In February, we are also running a new Prostate Cancer Wellbeing course designed to support men move forward with their life following prostate cancer treatment.
The six-week, two-hour course starts on Tuesday, February 10 at 2pm and will cover side effects of the disease, coping with stress and fatigue as well as managing relationships and intimacy. Call Tina on 01442 869 550 or email email@example.com.
Could you help us raise the £4.7m we need every year to provide our vital services for people living with life-limiting illnesses by participating in a fundraising event?
We have places on various cycling challenges, including Prudential RideLondonSurrey100 on Sunday, August 2; the Land’s End to John O’Groats Cycle from September 1 to 13; the 3 Cities Bike Ride from August 26 to 30; and the London-Paris Cycle Ride from September 9 to 13. Or if you’re looking for a once-in-a-lifetime challenge, we still have places left on our Nepal Trek from October 31 to November 11.
You can also help us by holding a coffee morning, putting your spare change in a Home Box or leaving us a gift in your will. March is our Make a Will month and Amersham solicitors Fulton Robertson is taking part, offering its standard will writing service for free or for a reduced fee, in return for a donation to the hospice. Last year 39 people took advantage of Make a Will month to make their wills and the Hospice received £5,650 in donations.
