Author booked in for school treat

Lauren St John, author of the White Giraffe, Laura Marlin and One Dollar Horse series went along to Maltman’s Green School in Gerrards Cross on Monday, January 26.
Girls in Years 5 and 6 chatted to her about her childhood growing up on a farm and game reserve in Zimbabwe and her work with the Born Free foundation, where she has rescued dolphins and leopards, returning them to their natural habitat.
She also showed them photographs of her animals, including a giraffe and two warthogs.
Mandy Wirth, head of English at the school, said: “Lauren also gave the girls some very practical tips to develop CHALFONT ST PETER: Thieves broke into a shed and stole a bike in The Queensway.
The crime took place between 2pm and 5.30pm their story writing and they left the creative writing workshop thoroughly enthused and keen to try out their ideas.” on Sunday, January 25.
