Still blooming great after 75 years
A VILLAGE garden club is celebrating a milestone anniversary this year and has marked the occasion by refurbishing its hut.
The Chalfont St Peter Garden Club has turned 75 this year, having started life in 1940.
One of the ways in which the club has celebrated the anniversary by allocating funds to refurbish its trading hut in Gravel Hill.
Club president Alan Davison said: “We thought spending money renewing our popular trading hut both celebrates the efforts of past members and will directly benefit current members.
“The present refurbishment ensures the future of this valuable community asset.”
The hut is used to sell gardening items to members on Sunday mornings, and the club also holds gardening themed talks in the Church Hall in Church Lane, every third Wednesday of the month from 8pm.
