Am­bu­lance staff were won­der­ful

HAV­ING read your ar­ti­cle about the South Cen­tral Am­bu­lance Ser­vice, in your pa­per dated Jan­uary 22, I have to agree with the Care Qual­ity Com­mis­sion’s find­ing that the am­bu­lance ser­vices staff treat pa­tients with dig­nity and re­spect.

Around mid­night on Thurs­day, Jan­uary 22, I be­came ex­tremely ill.

My wife called 999 and shortly af­ter­wards an am­bu­lance ar­rived.

The crew, Steph and Gavin, were very calm, pro­fes­sional and very re­as­sur­ing.

Af­ter an ini­tial as­sess­ment it was agreed that they should take me to Stoke Man­dev­ille’s A&E depart­ment.

Through­out the jour­ney to the hos­pi­tal, pain re­lief was
