Oxbridge offers double at school
MORE than a dozen students at a Beaconsfield secondary school have been offered Oxbridge places.
Beaconsfield High School was celebrating after hearing 13 students received offers to study at Oxford or Cambridge.
The school, in Wattleton Road, had six students offered places last year.
Headteacher Annette France said: “It has never been my view that Oxbridge colleges are the only destinations for very able students but the fact our numbers have more than doubled does reflect the high aspirations and achievements of our students as well as the quality of their UCAS personal statements and our references. However, it is important to recognize the quality of all our students’ applications to the universities of their choice, and their sheer hard work which leads to them having choices.”
GOING UP TO UNIVERSITY: Jade Pallister was among the high-achievers
STAR PUPIL: Natasha Pourkarimi is one of 13 students at The Beaconsfield High School to have been offered a place at Oxford or Cambridge universities this year
PRESTIGIOUS OFFER: Grace Vick is another student from the Wattleton Road school who is heading to Oxbridge
