Toy appeal works wonders
A CHARITY’s shops received £3,000 worth of pre-owned toys thanks to a campaign.
Barnardo’s stores in Chesham, Gerrards Cross, Great Missenden, Chalfont St Peter, Amersham and Aylesbury received 95 bags totalling nearly £3,000 worth of donated pre-owned children’s toys, thanks to Argos’ Toy Exchange.
During the eight-week campaign, donations across the UK rose by more than 55,000 bags, a total of £663,996 worth of donated toys.
Barnardo’s director of retail and trading, Gerard Cousins, said: “This is the third year of the partnership and we’re delighted that the Argos Toy Exchange has again proved such a success, particularly in such a challenging economic climate.
“The donations we received ahead of the busy Christmas period gave a substantial boost to our stock and provided a real festive bonus.
