We need new volunteers to help out at community events

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - COMMUNITY -

RENNIE Grove Hospice Care is looking for new community volunteers who can help at events this summer.

Each year we attend a series of fetes and fairs across our nursing areas in Herts and Bucks.

These events provide a way of making contact with the local community, as well as an opportunity to talk about and promote the work of the charity and raise much-needed funds.

Volunteering in a team of three, and able to commit to at least a whole morning or afternoon, our summer fetes and fairs volunteers will transport and set up equipment for our stall.

They will then man the Rennie Grove stall and talk to the public about the charity and fundraising events, sell raffle tickets and encourage children to participate in the ‘hook a duck’ game.

If you are warm and friendly with an ability to engage in a positive way with people of all ages and backgrounds then we would love you to join the Rennie Grove team.

For more information please contact volunteer services on 01442 890 222 or email volunteer@renniegrove.org

Are you attending or organising a Lent lunch this year? If so we are hoping you might consider supporting the charity.

During Lent, which this year takes place from February 18 to April 4, many churches organise a weekly lunch where parishioners get together to share a meal and donate the cost to charity.

Community fundraising manager Penny Crosswell said: “If you are taking part in a Lent lunch this year and have yet to choose a charity to benefit from it, we would love you to consider Rennie Grove.

“We could also arrange for one of our ambassadors to attend your lunch to tell you more about the charity if you would like.”

For more information, please contact the community fundraising team on 01442 820 718.
