Chiltern stay at the top

CHILTERN main­tained their four-point lead over Den­ham Vil­lage A at the top Di­vi­sion One of the Chal­gont Ta­ble Ten­nis League this week af­ter both teams bagged 10-point­ers.

Chiltern de­mol­ished Vil­lage C, thanks to their Chris Haines, Mark Croucher and Mike Atkin­son, while Rick­mansworth B con­ceded to Vil­lage A af­ter find­ing them­selves with just one player.

Vil­lage B had a com­fort­able 8-2 win over Chal­font B, with young­ster Ben Nay­lorSmith putting on a 100 per cen­ter, while Rick­mansworth A bat­tled with just two play­ers to beat Chal­font C 7-3, thanks to max­i­mum scores from Kevin Wil­liams and Shashin Shah.

In Di­vi­sion Two, Vil­lage F bagged all the points against Rick­mansworth D, cour­tesy of David Cot­tle, Carys Evans and Shaun Bau­sor, while Vil­lage E dished out the same treat­ment to sib­lings Vil­lage G, with young­sters Ollie Kimmins, Max Pen­ning­ton and Harry Wil­cox all shin­ing.

Vil­lage H had an em­phatic 9-1 win over Ick­en­ham URC, with un­beaten per­for­mances from Ros­alind Lane and new­comer Mitchell Pid­geon, who is aged just 12, while Ge­orge Reidy won all his sin­gles and a share of the dou­bles as Hilling­don saw off Rick­mansworth C.

Lead­ers Vil­lage D sur­pris­ingly only man­aged to share the points with the young­sters of Vil­lage J, whose top player, Lee Clarke, show­ing the re­lent­less form that has put him top of the av­er­ages.
