Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - GREEN SPACES -

OUR 18-month-old, Ellie, is insisting on taking numerous trips into our frozen garden and I have to say it is looking extremely odd. Besides my winter flowering hellebores I have some very confused sprouting bulbs and there is even spring blossom on a few of my shrubs. So I thought it best I stick to food this month.

We will be having our homereared Dexter beef in our shop late February. This small, rare breed has a great following and our cows are very content, having enjoyed a grass fed diet and a mild winter.

My friends often ask how I can bear to send off these delightful ittle cows who graze next to my garden.

I agree it is a shame as they are so beautiful and gentle, but regular readers of my column will know hat I love beef. Especially a roast!

But with just Tom, myself and

Steak tartare
