All the parties will support HS2

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - OPINION -

I AM surprised a referendum has been suggested to deal with HS2. We have an election in May. The three main parties – I include the Liberal Democrats as a kindness – are hell-bent on going forward with HS2.

Their plans will disrupt the lives of those of us who live in the Chilterns and its environs.

In light of the contemplated destruction of the Chilterns, could it result in a redefinition of this beautiful land presently known as an area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB)?

There’s no need for a referendum as we have one coming up. At the election, you can choose to vote for a party which advocates cancellation of HS2 or one of those wanting it to go ahead.
