Hospice ap­points new CEO

A HOSPICE has an­nounced the ap­point­ment of its new chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer.

Deb­bie Raven joined the Thames Hospice two years ago as direc­tor of pa­tient and fam­ily ser­vices.

Her proven ded­i­ca­tion and ex­pe­ri­ence in spe­cial­ist pal­lia­tive care has been crit­i­cally im­por­tant.

Un­der her lead­er­ship, the in­pa­tient unit has been able to sup­port a sig­nif­i­cant in­crease in the num­ber of pa­tients cared for, in­clud­ing many who have com­plex needs.

Ms Raven said: “I look for­ward to tak­ing over the helm of such an es­tab­lished and suc­cess­ful char­ity which has an in­cred­i­bly bright fu­ture. I’m hum­bled by the ded­i­ca­tion of our team and proud to be lead­ing an or­gan­i­sa­tion where ex­pert care and ev­ery­day kind­ness is at the heart of ev­ery­thing. Be­fore join­ing the hospice, Ms Raven held se­nior man­age­ment po­si­tions across the NHS and in­de­pen­dent health­care sec­tor. She is a nurse with more than 28 years’ ex­pe­ri­ence, hav­ing spe­cialised in dis­trict nurs­ing. She will take over on March 16, when cur­rent chief ex­ec­u­tive, Jacqueline Clark, re­tires.
