MOTOR car race with 60 scouts was a great success.

The 5th annual international Pinewood Derby, hosted by the 2nd Amersham on the Hill wolf pack, took place on Saturday, February 7.

Leader of the group, Rob Foreman, said: “This is a very popular Boy Scouts of America event but fairly unique in the UK, cubs are given a small block of wood to carve into a car of their own design then race them down an eight metre gravity track.”

The Flackwell Heath cubs won the competition.

Mayor of Amersham, Liz Walsh, said: “I enjoyed it, but more importantly the children appeared to be having a fabulous time.”
