Dancing along to the year of the sheep
GO along to a market at the weekend to celebrate Chinese New Year. Chesham Street Market will once again be marking the event, which this year is year of the sheep, at its next market which takes place on Saturday running from 10am to 2pm in Market Square, Chesham.
Entertainment at the market includes a Chinese Lion Dance being performed.
There will also be the usual stalls selling street food and re-cycled, remanufactured and re-used arts and crafts.
Chinese New Year falls on Thursday, February 19 this year.
Chesham Street Market takes place on the second Saturday of each month.
CELEBRATE Valentine’s Day 2 at the Roald Dahl Museum in Great Missenden by making tortoises in honour of the hero Esio Trot.
Children, over the age of six, are invited to make edible tortoises out of cake with food writer Victoria Glass.
The sessions will be at midday, 2pm and 3.30pm on Saturday at the museum, 83 High Street.
You can call 01494 892192 to book. On Sunday the tortoise theme continues with Marvellous tortoise magnet-making sessions (noon, 1.30pm and 3pm) and on Monday, it’s workhops to make tortoise key rings (at 10.30am and midday) to start the half term activities.
THE Shade of Nite will 3 perform at the Royal British Legion in Woodside Road in Amersham on Saturday. It will start at 8.15pm and is £5 for non-members and £4 for members. BARGAIN hunters should head to Gerrards Cross at the weekend for an attic sale. The event goes ahead on Saturday at the Memorial Centre in East Common from 9am to midday.
People will be able to browse different stalls to grab a bargain and will be able to choose from a variety of different items including clothes, toys and books.
Entrance to the event is £1 and car parking is free. CAPTURE Valentine’s Day snaps at Eden’s Caravan of Love this Saturday. The Eden shopping centre, in High Wycombe is installing a photo booth in a vintage caravan.
People will be able to pop in and take a snap for free between 11am and 5pm outside the Starbucks cofffee shop.
One couple will win a necklace worth £75 donated by jewellery store, Makena.
