Organised for the district council, Sport England Sportivate programme ran a junior mountain bike course this week, for 11 to 16 year-olds. The group encourages young people to get involved in sport and physical activity.
The course took place at Hodgemoor Wood, off the A355 between Amersham, Chalfont St Giles and Seer Green.
Joe Sammon, community sports manager for GLL, said: “We chose mountain biking because we wanted to appeal to young people who might have stopped taking part in physical activity for a variety of reasons. Mountain biking is a great way for kids who don’t think of themselves as sporty to get some exercise and have fun.”
The course ran for half-term week and another will run for six weeks on Saturday mornings, starting on February 28 at 10am.
