Young­sters get up close with na­ture

CRE­ATIVE pupils en­joyed dis­play­ing their art work at an ex­hi­bi­tion. Chil­dren from Heatherton House School, Cop­perkins Lane in Amer­sham had an ex­hi­bi­tion with the theme of art in­spired by na­ture, which in­cluded art on a range of sub­jects from gar­den birds to micro­organ­isms.

Art teacher Gwyn Vazquez said: “Through­out th projects the pup in­tro­duced to a range of new tech­niques and new ma­te­ri­als, such as Batik, wire-mesh mod­el­ling, pa­per sculp­ture and block print­ing.

“One of the aims of the ex­hi­bi­tion was to de­velop the pupils’ aware­ness of their nat­u­ral and lo­cal en­vi­ron­ment, each project in­volved close ob­ser­va­tional drawing.”
