PUPILS signed and sang along to a song to raise cash for char­ity and ex­tend chil­dren’s sign­ing skills Pupils at Elmtree School, in Elm Tree Hill, Che­sham, took part in the an­nual fundraiser sign2s­ing for the third year in a row on Tues­day, Fe­bru­ary 3.

The an­nual event raises awarenss and funds for the deaf health char­ity SignHealth, based in Bea­cons­field.

The sign2s­ing pro­gramme brings deaf and hear­ing chil­dren to­gether through sign lan­guage.

Thou­sands of peo­ple across the UK took part in sign2s­ing which ran from Mon­day, Fe­bru­ary 2 to Sun­day, Fe­bru­ary 8. This year’s song was called Friends For­ever.

Head­teacher Daphne Dru said: “Elmtree School was de­lighted to take part in sign2s­ing again this year.

“Maka­ton sign­ing is al­ready used through­out the school to sup­port the chil­dren’s learn­ing, so singing and sign­ing a song is sec­ond na­ture to us!”
