Penn & Tylers climb up

HAVING sat in the bottom two for most of the season, Penn & Tylers Green are up to the heady heights of 10th in Hellenic League Division One East following Saturday’s 3-1 win at Headington Amateurs.

But they had to do it the hard way, going down to 10 men after Jonathan Feaver was sent off after tangling with the home keeper in the first half.

Nevertheless, a Danny Jordan belter gave Penn a half time lead, before a fine solo effort from Chris Hurst, who ran from halfway while dribbling around a whole army of opposition players, doubled it after the break.

The hosts, who then had a man sent off too, pulled back a late consolation, but only after Hurst had made it 3-0 with a more simplistic tap-in this time.

Neighbours Chalfont Wasps remain rock bottom after losing 4-0 at home to Henley Town.

They visit Wokingham & Embrook on Saturday, while Penn host Cookham Dene in the Wycombe Senior Cup.
