GONG hey fat Choy!
Today (Thursday) is the start of Chinese New Year 2015, the year of the Sheep – or as some say the Goat!
To celebrate we are heading to the East Coast region of New Zealand, to the Villa Maria winery. Here we will be tasting their Private Bin Gewurtztraminer 2013. The look is clean and clear and a very pale gold in colour.
On the nose, classic Alsace aromas of rose petals, lychee and spice.
In the mouth, this wine is clean and fresh.
Tongue zinging flavours of rich tropical fruits abound, and low acidity levels give this wine a rich, yet soft off-dry finish. Delicious as an aperitif or a perfect partner to Asian cuisine.
Alc. Vol. 13.5%. Price. £10.99. (Widely available).
If you are celebrating, Gwor-nin Haow!
