Jazz pianist and cellist delight at lunchtime
A LONDON Philharmonic cellist joined a celebrated jazz pianist for the latest in a series of free half-hour concerts in a Beaconsfield church last Thursday.
Around 60 music lovers at the United Reform Church enjoyed classical and jazz duets from Robin Firman, who has played cello with the London Symphony and Philharmonic orchestras, and John Horler, pianist for jazz singer Cleo Lane.
One-off performances are held weekly in the church at 1pm on a Thursday, with a free ploughman’s lunch served beforehand.
“More and more people from the local community are coming” said event organiser Elaine Tudor-Williams, adding: “It’s great – I’ve seen people I haven’t seen in years.
“They really enjoy the music and it isn’t too long.”
The concerts last 30-40 minutes.
