‘Overwhelmed’ by U3A response

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - NEWS -

THERE was an ‘overwhelming response’ to an inaugural U3A meeting.

More than 300 people attended a meeting to launch a Chalfonts University of the Third Age on Wednesday, March 11.

Publicity organiser for the group, Tricia Reeve, said: “An amazing 300 plus attended and over 200 became members and registered their preferences for the different groups available. Truly overwhelmed by the positive response. The favourite groups were walking, theatre trips, photography and Mah Jong [a Chinese game].”

The first monthly meeting will be on Wednesday, April 8 at 2pm in Chalfont St Peter Community Centre, Gravel Hill when non-members will have another chance to join. The speaker will be Alan Copeland talking on the Chilterns. Email info. chalfontsu3a@gmail.com for more details.
