HUNDREDS JOIN IN 5K OF FUN
STUDENTS raced each other in the annual 5km Beaconsfield fun run. The Beaconsfield School and Alfriston School joined forces on Friday, March 28 and about 1,000 students and teachers took part to raise funds.
Money raised by the fun run will go towards replacing the stage in the main school hall.
Town crier Dick Smith opened the event with head boy James Walker and head girl Lauren Brake.
Afterwards, Beaconsfield mayor Steve Jones awarded the prizes to the fastest runners.
Head teacher John Fletcher said: “We are very grateful to the owners of Hall Barn Estate for allowing this spectacular event to take place on their beautiful estate.
“It is also appreciated that many parents offered their time and support in marshalling the course and added their encouragement to the runners.
“I would also like to thank our PTFA members and Mr Maddock, our leader of PE, for their superb skills in organising the day.”
