STU­DENTS raced each other in the an­nual 5km Bea­cons­field fun run. The Bea­cons­field School and Al­fris­ton School joined forces on Fri­day, March 28 and about 1,000 stu­dents and teach­ers took part to raise funds.

Money raised by the fun run will go to­wards re­plac­ing the stage in the main school hall.

Town crier Dick Smith opened the event with head boy James Walker and head girl Lau­ren Brake.

Af­ter­wards, Bea­cons­field mayor Steve Jones awarded the prizes to the fastest run­ners.

Head teacher John Fletcher said: “We are very grate­ful to the own­ers of Hall Barn Es­tate for al­low­ing this spec­tac­u­lar event to take place on their beau­ti­ful es­tate.

“It is also ap­pre­ci­ated that many par­ents of­fered their time and sup­port in mar­shalling the course and added their en­cour­age­ment to the run­ners.

“I would also like to thank our PTFA mem­bers and Mr Mad­dock, our leader of PE, for their su­perb skills in or­gan­is­ing the day.”
