Posters to boost village hopes
POSTERS are being put in place around a village in order to encourage people to help it win a competition.
Gerrards Cross is putting itself forward for the first prize in this year’s Best Kept Village contest and is urging people in the area to do what they can to help it claim victory.
The posters are going to be appearing around the village, on notice boards and shop windows, in the run up to judging, which takes place in June.
Community groups and individuals are being encouraged to put themselves forward to help with tidy up operations from now until judging takes place, and it is hoped that the poster will raise awareness of the contest, as well as resulting in more people volunteering to lend a hand.
Parish council chairman Chris Brown said: “We really want people to be aware of what we’re trying to achieve here and for people to get involved with the contest.
“Hopefully the posters will help with both of those things.”
