Free rail travel for marathon run­ners

MARATHON run­ners will be of­fered free rail travel as a re­ward for tak­ing on the gru­elling chal­lenge.

Chiltern Rail­ways is set to of­fer par­tic­i­pants in the Lon­don Marathon on Sun­day free travel on all of its ser­vices.

To take ad­van­tage of the scheme, run­ners sim­ply need to present their of­fi­cial marathon tabard with race num­ber to ticket in­spec­tors.

In ad­di­tion to this, the com­pany has teamed up with Net­work Rail to run two ex­tra early morn­ing trains from Ban­bury to Ayles­bury.

The ex­tra early morn­ing train from Ban­bury leaves at 6.40am, ar­riv­ing at Lon­don Maryle­bone at 7.58am.

The ex­tra Ayles­bury train will leave at 7am, ar­riv­ing at Lon­don Maryle­bone at 8.06am.
